my good friend has come up with an idea out of which he will come having the weekend off from his cafe; he wants to rent out the space for friday and saturday to whomever is interested (basically) so he can "enjoy his life outside the cafe a little bit" and give others the opportunity to provide other culinary services than what he does there on a regular basis.
the cafe that he runs serves only baked goods, desserts and really good coffee.
the public, however, wants more. they want food. they've been telling him since the beginning but he won't budge. he has recently introduced this opportunity to me and i thought this could be my time to shine there and make everyone happy.
they want food, i'll give'em food. i want a small, highest quality breakfast menu, as well as soups and sandwiches for lunch and i am not even sure i will want the place open friday and/or saturday evenings.
i think it could be a lot of fun and one of the things i love most is working in the kitchen early, early in the morning.
i have a lot of homework to do now; write a menu, contact suppliers, come up with all the numbers and simply - go fer it. i will keep you posted here and on my website: www.asaffier.com .
